Transfers and Transport from Bali Denpasar Airport (DPS), Indonesia
Ngurah Rai international airport lies close to Kuta in southern Bali, 9 miles southwest of Denpasar.
Taxi The official, fixed price Airport Taxi Service is located near the terminal exit, fares are pre-paid at Arrivals desk. Metered taxis (haggling needed) are also available, taxi fares displayed outside terminal buildings give an idea of prices. Kuta is walkable from the airport. A cheap option is to take a taxi to Bemo Corner in Kuta for a fixed rate, then a metered taxi or chartered Bemo (minibus) to other destinations.
Bus Buses run frequently between Bali airport and Tegal bus station in Denpasar, takes about 50 mins. Alternatively take a public Bemo minibus to Kuta from outside airport gate. Cheap public buses and Bemos run between towns on Bali. Hailed private chartered Bemos have to be haggled over, use the fares to popular destinations displayed at the airport as a guide. Ferry Ferries run between the west Balinese port of Gilimanuk and Ketapang, east Java (combined bus/boat tickets from Denpasar to Java are available). Frequent ferries cross from Padangbai in east Bali to Lembar on Lombok island, with its beautiful beaches and temples.
