Cheap Flights to Cairo Egypt from £223

Egyptair, BMI and British Airways all have direct flights to Cairo from London, the starting price for return tickets with BA is £331. We compare airfares from 6 other airlines on this route but the 5 hour non stop flight seems a good choice if you live near Heathrow. KLM and Air France have cheapest flights from UK regional airports but all departures require one change of aircraft, the best prices are from Manchester. None of the UK holiday companies are currently offering charter flights to the Egyptian capital.

Getting to and from Cairo Airport (CAI)
Outside the new terminal 3 at Cairo Airport This 4-runway airport is located at 13 miles distance northeast of the city centre and about 25 miles from the Pyramids in Giza. Most European flights used to land at Terminal 2, but this is closed for renovation until 2013 and airlines have been moved to Terminal 1. The new Terminal 3 is now also open. All terminals are linked by a free Egypt Air shuttle bus every 30 minutes. A new Metro underground connection to the city is planned to open around 2013.
Taxi White metered taxis from airport to downtown Cairo (Tahrir Square) take about 30 minutes, make sure the meter is running as this is cheaper than a fixed fare. Alternatively, use the fixed-price limousine services, some have booking desks in the arrivals area.
Bus The frequent very cheap Airport Bus to the city centre operates from Terminal 1 every 30 minutes, it also stops at Mohandeseen. There are air-conditioned coaches from the airport to the pyramids and elsewhere. The airport bus station is located in the parking lot in front of Terminal 1.
