Hazrat Shahjalal (Zia) international airport is about 13 miles north of Dhaka (formerly called Dacca), the Bangladeshi capital. Terminal 1 & 2 are for international flights, Terminal 3 is for domestic.
Taxi Use the pre-paid taxi booth in Arrivals or haggle over the fare beforehand.
Bus BPC (government organised) offer transfer service for tourists to main city points or hotels. Public bus stop is on main road outside airport, expect the usual overcrowding. Buses going to the airport run from Gulistan Bus station. Bangladeshi roads are congested and hazardous and the traffic is chaotic.
Train No rail connection to this airport, although there is the Biman Bandar Airport train station not far away. However, there is severe overcrowding and the practice of people sitting on the roof of buses and trains, making travel rather risky and hazardous. Kamalapur railway station is the largest station in Dhaka. The Bangladesh Railway provides rail services to Chittagong, Sylhet, Khulna, Mymensingh, Bogra, Rajshahi, Dinajpur.
