The new Rajiv Gandhi International Airport opened in 2008 and is located near Shamshabad, 15 miles south of the city. It has one modern terminal for both domestic and international flights and it has now replaced the old Begumpet Airport.
Hyderabad and twin town Secunderabad form the capital of the Andhra Pradesh region and is the fifth largest metropolis of India.
Taxi Only licensed taxis are allowed to operate at the airport. Prepaid taxis can be hired at the airport desk.
Bus A modern airconditioned Aero Express bus shuttle service runs from the airport to many major stops in the city every half hour.
Train No train connection to this airport, but Hyderabad and Secunderabad are well connected to other flight destinations in India such as Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi, Bhubaneshwar, Kolkata, Kochi and Rajkot.
Secunderabad railway station is centrally located and most long-distance trains stop here. Hyderabad Nampally railway station is also close to all amenities and has many routes to major destinations.

  • Nizam's Museum - Interesting and opulent gifts presented to the last Nizam are housed in this old palace building.
