Kaunas (also Kowno or Kovno) is the second largest city in Lithuania after the capital Vilnius. Kaunas is an industrial university town with plenty of historical buildings, parks and museums. It is also the home of the famous Zalgiris basketball team.

Kaunas International Airport (KUN) lies 8 miles northeast of the city, about 5 miles off the A1 motorway Klaipeda - Vilnius. Public transport is cheap.
Taxi
Taxis are available on request at the airport kiosk and are recommended. Hailed taxis seriously overcharge.
Bus
Shuttle bus No. 120 runs between the airport and the city centre. In Kaunas, fast minibuses are a good option for travelling around, they will stop anywhere and have fixed prices and routes. Buses and trolleybuses are also plentiful and cheap.
