BA Terminal entrance at JFK - from AirTrain
Kennedy Airport is New York's principal international airport. It lies on Long Island, adjacent to Jamaica Bay, about 15 miles southeast of downtown Manhattan. This massive airport has 9 passenger terminals, all linked by the free AirTrain. Driving access is via the Van Wyck 678 and JFK Expressways, the two main highways in/out of the airport, but this can be very slow. Most public transport journeys involve the airport's AirTrain monorail system. Transport Information desks are in all arrivals areas.
Taxis Available 24 hours at cab stands in front of terminals. Fares can be quite expensive from airport, for the latest taxi fares to Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Staten Island, La Guardia etc. see Kennedy Airport Taxis.

Train From the airport, the AirTrain JFK monorail frequently runs to Howard Beach NYC subway station and Jamaica Station on Long Island from all terminals.
