Flight and Travel information to Paderborn Airport

Paderborn Lippstadt Airport (PAD), Nordrhein Westfalen, is about 15 miles southwest of Paderborn town and lies 60 miles east of Dortmund, 75 miles east of Essen, 95 miles east of Duisburg and 95 miles west of Hannover. Flights to Paderborn expand tourism to the Eastern part of Westphalia, Northern Hesse and Southern Lower Saxony as these regions are well-known and popular with British families from former military service.

Getting to Paderborn

Unfortunately from 2012 there are no direct flights into Paderborn from any UK airport. Air Berlin previously operated flights from London Stansted, Manchester and Bournemouth to this part lovely part of Germany. There is now no easy way to travel directly to this airport from Britain. The best alternatives are Hannover and Dusseldorf which have frequent flights across the UK.

Paderborn Lippstadt International airport lies 10 miles SW of Paderborn, a small town with a huge British Army base in NW Germany, halfway between Dortmund and Hannover. Air Berlin is the major low cost airline flying into and out of this airport.
Car From A33 motorway (Bielefeld-Brilon) exit Salzkotten; from A44 (Dortmund - Kassel) exit Bueren. There is plenty of cheap parking at the airport.
Taxi Various taxi companies operate from the airport, about £18 to Paderborn.
Bus Bus 460 and 400 run to Paderborn central train station, bus N5 after 10 pm. Tickets bought on coach.
Train Nearest railway station is in Paderborn.
