Pudong International was opened in 1999 and is situated close to the coast, about 19 miles southeast of central Shanghai. This easily accessible airport is China's 3rd largest international flight hub. City alterations are in progress in anticipation of the Shanghai 2010 World Expo. Main highways connect Shanghai to cities like Nanjing, Suzhou and Hangzhou.
