Sur Reina Sofia airport is located in the SE part of the island, 35 miles from the capital town Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 10 miles from Playa de las Americas resort. UK charter airlines Thomas Cook and Excel Airways have many low cost charter flights to Tenerife.

Mount Teide - Spectacular 12000 ft.high snow-capped vulcano with a vast crater. The mountain dominates the island and towers over the lava strewn Las Canadas National Park. A cable car takes visitors to just below the rim of the crater.
