Transavia - Low fares going Dutch
The Dutch low cost and charter airline Transavia celebrated its 45th birthday in 2011. This airline offers scheduled and charter flights to the UK and Europe from the Netherlands.
Transavia used to only operate charter flights and also had a budget subsidiary called Basiq Air, but dropped the latter brand name in 2005 when the two airlines combined. Internet bookings on Transavia.com now cover 93% of their flights and package holiday sales.
The airline is wholly owned by KLM and forms part of the Air France-KLM Group. Transavia transported nearly 5 million passengers last year. |
