Cheap Flights to Rome from £44

Rome (Roma) is a wonderful city for a long weekend or city break. Italy's capital is packed with many of Europe's top ancient sights, many of which are within walking distance of the central Terminus station. Rome Ciampino Airport, 12 miles SE of the city, is served by a half-hourly bus to the metro stop, from where it is just 20 minutes to central Rome.

    Getting to and from Rome Ciampino Airport (CIA), Italy
    From Rome's smaller Ciampino airport it is a 30 mins drive (12 miles) to the centre of Rome.
    Taxi Will probably cost from £22 - £28, higher on Sundays/holidays and night runs.
    Bus Take the blue Cotral Bus to Anagnina Metro stop, then catch Metro Line A to Rome Termini station. Most sights are within walking distance of this station. Alternatively, take Cotral Bus to Ciampino train station, then take a train. A special Terravision Express Shuttle coach transports Ryanair/Easyjet passengers directly to Rome city centre (around EUR8 one way).
    Train Take bus to Ciampino train station, trains run to Rome Termini every 15 minutes.
     
    Transfers Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO), Italy
    Fiumicino 'Leonardo da Vinci' Airport is Italy's largest airport, it has 4 terminals and is located at about 20 miles distance southwest of Rome.
    Car It is about 22 miles drive to central Rome via motorway A91 Roma-Fiumicino. Indoor multy storey parking areas are connected to the terminals by moving walkways. A free shuttle bus links the long stay car park to the terminals.
    Taxi It is advised to only choose the officially authorised white taxis (marked with a licence number on the doors, on the back and inside) waiting outside the terminals. Fare to the city costs from 60 Euros but can be more.
    Bus The Terravision shuttle goes to Metro Line A at Lepanto and to Roma Termini railway station in Via Marsala. COTRAL buses also run to Piazza dei Cinquecento in front of Roma Termini railway station, tickets for sale in the bus.
    Train The airport train station is within walking distance, follow signs marked TRENI. The Leonardo Express runs non-stop to Rome's main station, Stazione Termini, in half an hour, cost 15 Euros. This station is also connected to the underground and many tourist attractions are situated within walking distance from here.
    A cheaper alternative is to take the slower Sabina-Fiumicino local line (FM1), cost 8 Euros, which stops at all other main railway stations in between. At Ostiense station you can change to the Rome Metro system.
